Summary: They were both breaking down from psychosis. It was a match made in Heaven. Or you know, was it? Whatever the case, it was nothing less than a befuddling case for the folks trying to solve the case of these two.

History: Long ago, Monica Ranieri was violently assaulted. Upon seeing a painting of a similar incident, she went bonkers. But she emphasized with the assailant rather than the victim. Soon, she found herself going on a killing spree, but not alone. Along the way, she married Alberto, who was having similar psychological issues. But Alberto was a bit reluctant, and at one point retaliated against Monica for her control. Everyone seeing it got the wrong idea, and pursued Alberto, seeing Monica as a victim.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Alberto is confronted and drops from a high distance to his death, but manages to croak out his undying loyalty before passing. Monica is soon exposed after trying to murder another time, and is sent to a mental institution.

Powers/Abilities: None

Weakness: Anything conventional

Scariness Factor: 3.5-While Alberto did carry out some deaths, Monica is the one we should fear. With little effort, she masterminded a complete diversion for her would-be captors so that she could kill with impunity. At least, for a while.

Trivia: -This film was the first in a trilogy of films by giallo film director Dario Argento known as the "Animal Trilogy". The films that would follow include 1971's "The Cat o' Nine Tails" and 1972's "Four Flies on Grey Velvet".

-For its U.S. release, this film had 20 seconds cut out for a GP rating, though it eventually got a PG rating.
